Celebrate Earth Day with a full day of festivities including guided walks, Earth Day activities, and a conservation work party at Deception Pass State Park from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Join for the morning, afternoon or the whole day! Earth Day activities include coffee and snack; a bird walk and a dune walk beginning at 10:15 a.m. As walks complete there will be three self-guided stations: birding with spotting scopes, a microplastics demonstration and a gray whale station with a nine-and-a-half foot skull. At noon, a lunch with light sandwiches, snacks and drinks are provided. From 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Join staff to hand pull non-native dune grass. Please bring sturdy shoes and work gloves. All other tools will be provided. Come to West Beach, 41229 State Route 20 north of Oak Harbor. Pre-registration required.
