Calling for Nominations

Are you curious about how Whidbey Audubon operates? Are you interested in learning more about the people behind the scenes? Do you have an idea you’d like to share?

The Whidbey Audubon Board is looking for nominations for the positions of secretary and treasurer. We also really need a president, and that office is only for one year. Terms are for two years, but we didn’t have a nominee for president last year.

If you have an interest in filling any of those roles, please learn more on the Volunteer page and submit a comment in the form or email contact.us@whidbeyaudubonsociety.org.

Please come to the March 13 Whidbey Audubon Society general meeting to declare your intentions or to nominate another person for one of these! The slate closes at the end of the meeting and then we get to vote on them at the general membership meeting in May.

There are a number of other committee chair positions that  need volunteers to fill. Consider helping out with educational programs in schools or brainstorming on the program committee to find great speakers for the monthly meetings. Maybe you’d like to know more about using the bird specimen library with children? Maybe you’d like to staff our display at one of the events this year, such as Musselfest, Whidbey Gardening Workshop Marketplace on March 15 or Earth Day at Camp Casey on April 19.

Don’t forget Birdathon is coming up. Wings over Whidbey Bird Festival needs lots of helpers. There are many ways to plug into this vibrant organization.
