Join us for our book club, Page Peepers, via Zoom. Our hosts are Mary Bloom, merryposa@gmail.com, and Patricia Duarte, pduartemd@gmail.com. Gatherings are the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm .
Our book this month is Hazel Wolf by Susan Starbuck. The book is about one of the early environmentalists, she was born in 1898 and died in 2000. Her life's story was captured by the author by way of twenty years of taped conversations. In addition to lobbying, as an environmental activist, she was instrumental in founding chapters of the Audubon Society in Washington state, including our Whidbey Island chapter. All of her accomplishments were done in the face of fighting deportation to her native Canada, "as a communist".
